Foam crafts are fun, inexpensive and versatile! You can decorate hats, can hugs, bookmarks, door hangers and more. It’s perfect for that day that is too hot to go out and don’t feel like leaving the house.

I find products at craft stores, WalMart and The Dollar Tree. Here is the link to our visors!

You can be creative and make up your own ideas. Here is one of ours. We used the foam door hangers to make these thermometers. This particular project is best for older children 6+ with adult supervision.

Sidewalk Chalk for Summer!

Here’s an inexpensive way to spend an afternoon and get the kids out of the house!! Crayola Sidewalk Chalk…found a whole box of colors for $5! They write their names, messages on the sidewalk and draw pictures…note the rainbow has the colors in order! I just told them about the easy way to remember this…R O Y G. B I V. Nice to see them applying it. 🙂

Summer Crafts

Summer is here!  We have reached temperatures nearing the 100’s and we try to do our swimming and golfing in the early morning when it’s a lot cooler.  When it’s too hot to be outside…keep cool and keep kids busy with our crafts from Teaching Tiny Tots!

Have some shells you collected from the beach? How about this Seashell Hanging as a memento.  Or make some of our other crafts like our foam visor and foam coolies.

It’s a great time to be reading books about the ocean.  Here is one of our latest crafts that creates a neat Ocean Picture.

Summer is Coming Quickly! Keep Kids Busy & Learning!

Summer is coming up and we have lots of ideas for you to keep kids busy, entertained and learning naturally. Whether you are preparing for your first school experience or going to Kindergarten or First grade, you can adjust our activities to your child’s abilities.

One of our favorite toys are Magnetic Whiteboard Easels. This is probably the most used toy that has lasted from 2 years until now at 6 years. At first it was great for painting and drying and displaying art work. Then we found magnetic letters and animals. Now we use it as a white erase board for drawing, reminders, and learning words.

Mega Bloks is another favorite because of the great independent entertainment value as well as using it as a natural learning tool. See our page for lots of cool ideas to reinforce color, shape, size and patterns.

This is the perfect time for a Sand and Water Table
Whether its measuring or building, you can also reinforce a lot of neat learning activities all during play. See our page for fun ideas to reinforce these concepts.
